So she was back here again. With the injured creature staring at her from the makeshift bed on the desk. Staring...with beady eyes hungry for revenge.

...

Alright, so that may have been her imagination, but Setsuka always got the idea that every single animal, mammal or not was out to get her. Always.

She made eye-contact with the bird before silently mouthing a word that meant 'no', and shook her head to prove her point. Even if the girl didn't know what the creature could possibly do with it's wound, it couldn't hurt to be safe.

Perhaps if she turned her head, that would stop all the paranoid thoughts from coming through. Except, that would leave her neck vulnerable for attack. Past experiences meant paranoid thoughts anywhere and everywhere, no matter the situation.

Ever since her meeting with the nice, but strange Asphodel, Setsuka found herself playing bird-sitter. She had agreed to it, of course, and the other also said that she would come along to help it. She wasn't sitting there waiting for the girl though; oh no. She just wanted to make sure that someone was actually there to open the door.

And despite the fact that there was literally next to nothing in the room, Setsuka still didn't want anyone coming in to snoop.
Privacy was something she valued highly; especially if it was her own.

This was it, right?

Asphodel glanced at the numbers on the door and bit her lip. She gave a small shrug of her shoulders before finally lifting her hand, hovering inches away from the wooden door.

What if she was wrong? Well, it would be a funny story to tell people later, at least, she decided. White and pink ribbons tied her hair in her tight, signature pigtails while a pink dress hung over her frame. White lace socks rose almost to her knees while light pink, high-heeld Mary Janes covered her small feet.

She prepared herself for the worst, a determined -- though admittedly more-than-slightly-nervous -- smile spreading slowly across her lips.

Alright, this was it. Asphodel knocked gently on the door. If she was wrong...well, like she had tried to assure herself before: it would be a funny story for later, at least.

So intent on watching the bird for it's next move, much like two chess players, Setsuka wasn't aware of the light footsteps that stopped outside the entrance to her room. And so, with much surprise, she whipped her head over to look as the knock sounded, then quickly eyed the creature in front of her once more.

That would have been the perfect time for an enemy to strike.

Sighing, she shook her head at the stupidity of herself, and brushed the littered birdseeds off her lap (the feeding process had not gone so well), before standing to open the door.

That was when she hesitated; it would be better not to greet the person with Asphodel's name, in case it was the wrong person. Unlike some, she hated embarassing and or awkward situations. Despite being able to talk about them later, she preferred not to do so.

She unlocked the door and opened it smally, to catch a glimpse of the other before opening it fully.

Asphodel gave a small wave as Setsuka peered through a small crack in the door before it opened wider. "Hi there, Setsuka-san. How's everything going?" she asked cheerfully.

Her camera hung around her neck, bouncing against her chest as she moved, peering around the other girl into the room.

"Can I come in?" she asked curiously.

OOC: Eh, at least you have a muse >:

So she had her camera again. Setsuka realised that the other hadn't been kidding when she said that she took that object everywhere she went. She didn't bother answering Asphodel's question yet, as it would have been rude to keep her out any longer.

After another brief glimpse at the contraption around the female's neck, she managed to put a smile on her face, "Of course," she could feel the bird's gaze pecking at her back, like it was its beak. Her...she needed to remember the bird was a girl.

"I have a feeling the bird doesn't like me." She said, repeating her words from earlier days, opening the door to allow the female to enter.

She smiled at Setsuka's response and stepped into the room.

It was...well...clean. And there she was, the bird. Asphodel hurried toward it, a wide smile spreading across her lips. "What makes you think she doesn't like you, Setsuka-san?" she asked curiously, turning her silver-gray eyes to the other girl as she knelt beside the bird.

She laughed, well, this may have been awkward. "How have you been, Setsuka-san?" she laughed. Well, she needed some sort of conversation, and smalltalk clearly wasn't Asphodel's strongest suit.

She debated with herself for a brief moment, before leaving the door open a little. Closing the door wasn't necessary for a situation such as this, and she certainly didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

"It keeps...staring at me," she explained, "Not the 'hello-there-lets-be-friends' sort, but the..." Setsuka had to ponder for a while, before settling on, '...'I'm-watching-you' type..." She gave a deliberate shudder just for effect, "It's nerve-wracking, but at least the company is good...somewhat."

It was like staying on a deserted island with your worst enemy. You don't want to be alone, but you don't want to be with the other either. The significant difference was that the brunette did have a choice, and she personally didn't hold any type of grudge against the winged creature.

But now she was just being silly.

Asphodel couldn't help it.

Bubbly laughter escaped her lips. When it finally subsided, a smile continued to light her face. "It's watching you? Sort of a scary idea, don't you think?" she asked jokingly.

Yes, horrifying...

A baby bird was watching her. "If you want, I can stay a bit so she has something else to watch other than just you," she laughed.

Did that make sense? Well, she couldn't think of what else to say. Asphodel had never been good with words. She decided to sit beside the small bird, tossing a dark pigtail over her shoulder, and held a gentle hand to it.

Her face tinged slightly red at the laugh, but Setsuka knew the other wasn't mocking her. "It is," she repeated, all the more serious than Asphodel, though the light pull on the side of her lips contradicted the intention. "It has piercing beady eyes that...well...pierce." She said, giving the most obvious explaination.

"But," she said quickly after, "You don't need to stay if you don't want to...my room isn't exactly the most interesting place to sit in for very long." Certainly, it was clean, but lack of decoration in design made it dull. It was as if Setsuka was just a temporary guest here...in a way, she was.

"Did you come here to keep the bird company, or have you found someone to help? Like...a healer?" A perplexed look formed on her face in that instant. Did Asphodel really come just to greet the bird, or was the female planning on helping with more than just that?

Asphodel applauded, eyes gleaming cheerfully. "Wonderful use of adjectives," she commended the other girl. Then again, she wasn't one to talk.

But the other girl's next comments brought the dark-haired teenager to the real reason that she was there. Which was...

"I thought we could go and do something fun today. You and me, Setsuka-san!" she said, clapping her hands together excitedly as she beamed at the room's only other human occupant. "Who knows how long we'll be playing house with this little one," she tilted her head in the bird's direction and it gave a small 'peep' as if in protest to her reference, "so I thought we should get to know each other a little bit."

The possibility of a 'no' hadn't occured to her. In fact, it still seemed as though it wasn't occuring to her as she smiled cheerfully.

Setsuka wondered briefly if it was sarcasm, then decided it didn't matter much. "Thank you," she said in return, giving a small, short bow.

She was already going over Asphodel's proposal as she straightened back up. The small sound the bird made made her back prickle; was the winged creature protesting? "I think it's jealous," she commented idly before returning to topic, "What do you consider fun?" She had a vague sense of deja vu; had she asked this question before? If so, she had forgotten.

It wasn't a yes, but it wasn't a no. If it was something Setsuka knew was dangerous, or simply not her...well, she would have to think over it a little more. Sure, it may have been a little selfish of her, but that was the way she thought. "And 'getting to know'...does that mean 'Question and Answer'?"

((OOC: Sorry it took me so long to respond.))

That wasn't a definitive answer.

No, it was definitive, it just suggested that Setsuka didn't entirely trust Asphodel's judgment, or at least didn't share in it. "Question and answer? What's that? I mean...you know...a conversation?"

As for conversation topics...well, she would get to that obstacle when she got to it. For now, she would wait.

There was also something else that had caught her attention. "What would she be jealous of?" the girl asked curiously. In fact, she was rather confused now.

((OOC: On top of taking forever, it's a sucky post...sorry...))

OOC: It's perfectly fine - I don't mind at all. We all have our on-off days...

"Ah, I see...no, I was simply asking if we were doing that...um...well, the thing where people ask questions to another, and they answer." She shrugged, "But a conversation will do well." She felt a little embarrassed; it was obvious that the other was thinking of conversing. What else was there to do?

Clearing her throat a little, Setsuka decided to take advantage of the change in topic and gestured to the bird. "Jealous because she thinks she's going to be left alone?" Yes, she had changed her initial thoughts, and what she was meant to say. Only because she didn't think it was such a good idea to mention it in the end.

Setsuka shrugged, "But that's just me, I suppose."
