Breathe...or not?

The cool spring breeze gently ran its fingers through Kou Yuumura's long, dark tresses as she let out an inaudible sigh. The amber-eyed girl quietly observed the serene portrait of the school's surroundings: blossoming trees touched with pink and green, pastel-colored rooftops of the houses that were nearby, the baby blue sky...It was almost enough to make the stoic girl quirk a smile. Almost.
It wasn't as though she wasn't enjoying herself, but being in a new school was just a tad taxing and mildly nerve-wracking. And thus, her situation led Kou to find some type escape in the rooftop.
Shifting her weight towards the metal fence that was no doubt there to prevent people from falling off the rooftop, she pressed her forehead against the cool metal mesh and let out another light sigh.

Kou's ears immediately honed in on the sound of footsteps and her senses automatically sharpened. Great... Hoping that the sound was only her imagination, the dark-haired girl did not turn around until the owner of the footsteps spoke up. She supposed that she had no choice but to answer.
Turning around, Kou was taken aback my the adorable figure before her. She responded with a simple "Hello" and a formal bow.

Lifting her gaze and blinking a few times, the girl mentally smacked herself for not remembering to introduce herself. However, Kou quickly regained her composure as her stoic mask return to her features and answered tersely...as usual... "My name is Kou. It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Bethany."
She proceeded to study the girl in front of her.

Curiously watching Bethany, Kou was baffled as to why this girl looked so happy. She tilted her head in concentration and came to the conclusion that it was probably because of the comfortable temperature and winsome scenery before them. Deciding that it was the most logical thing, Kou attempted to return Bethany's kind smile but only managed to quirk some idiotic-looking grin.
She coughed in embarrassment and shifted her gaze back to their surroundings.

Hm? Sad? The poor girl turned back to Bethany and looked at her with a hint of surprise touched with a tad of confusion. She shook her head vigorously, "I'm not...sad. See?" She attempted another smile to prove her point, but epically failed yet again since she seemed to have made some type of weird face. Kou made mental note to practice facial expressions in the mirror....no wonder people found her a tad...unapproachable.

...She giggled? The amber-eyed girl nearly fell over in embarassment as a touch of crimson kissed her cheeks. Oh dear...Kou knew that she should have listened to the old lady who had suggested to her to find some type of social life... She averted her gaze to ground. Well, on the bright side. She didn't run.........
Brought out of her reverie by the other girl's melodious voice, Kou returned her attention to the young lady before her and replied quietly, "P-perhaps...class?"

Kou's eyes widened and her mouth dropped partially open in surprise. If she hadn't heard it herself, she wouldn't have believed it. How in all the worlds did all of that come out of this seemingly soft-spoken beauty in front of her? Now, Kou was intrigued. Perhaps she would observe Bethany for a bit longer since the girl would probably have more surprises up her sleeves. Not that it was any of Kou's business, but she was just a little bit more than a tad curious.
With that the ston-faced girl asked tentatively, "....Is there something the matter, Miss Bethany?"

How interesting Blinking a few times (it seemed to become a habit...), she nodded nervously, "I..see. I suppose...that's a good thing." Her amber eyes followed Bethany's gaze ta car with two people in it; She assumed that one of them was this girl's sister. Switching her observation back to the girl before her, Kou noticed the same kind smile spreading across her face yet again. "Heh...you must really care for her." The words escaped her lips before she could stop them.
