xx Dinner for Two, Please (Kerin)
« Thread started on: Jul 5th, 2008, 12:14pm »

Les Cieux truly lived up to its reputation as the classiest restaurant around--Samantha nodded as she took in the extravagant setting. Nothing compared to the dining hall back at the castle, but then again, most things couldn't compare to it. She pulled back the chair for her companion, and then sat down herself. She waved over a waiter to help the two, and he immediately queried as to what they would like--in French. He automatically caught his mistake, and though his face was reddening, he continued to repeat his question. She laughed, and scanned the menu.

"Ah, I've picked what I want. You?" She paused for a moment.

"Um I would like a tossed salad and some hard boiled eggs." She smiled at the other girl. She always chose something small like that especially when she had already eaten for the day. "Maybe something special for our date as well." She turned to the waiter and winked, who in turn blushed. " We need something special for out first date right dear?" She then asked Sam after seeing what kind of reaction it got out of the waiter. "Maybe something to make our lips taste good for our first kiss." She continued enjoying the rise she was getting from the waiter.

Samantha chuckled. This man had no idea what they were saying, did they? She recognized the flush of embarrassment that she had experienced when talking to an Arabic man who she had utterly felt lost when speaking to. She repeated the other girl's order, as well as the side comments, and then placed her own order. This time, his flush was true, not only accentuated by the fact that Samantha had to translate, but also because of the innuendos that were floating in the air. He walked away hurriedly and Samantha stifled back a laugh.

"Our first kiss, eh? I didn't know you were planning such events already." She smirked, already formulating her own plot in mind. "Ah, but the only sweet things that are eaten usually come at the end of the meal--dessert. Though, Iv'e heard that you can eat dessert not only on a plate--but on other things as well."

Oh, Samantha could play as well. Very well, in fact.

"Oh don't worry Sammy it was a joke for the waiter, but if you want a kiss we can do that but i stop there." She smiled as she said this. Her words were true she was not ready to give herself out yet not even for a steady relationship. "And i have some money on me so we can go dutch for this." She said thinking the other would not let her do that but she had to ask. It was proper manners after all to ask to split the check.

Samantha was actually insulted for a moment--nonetheless, she swallowed the bile that rose up in her throat.
"Ah, you paying a thing would be completely unnecessary. In fact, that dear waiter already had my credit card from the moment I asked for the table." Being prepared was something Sam always was.

Kerin stared at the girl as her face looked different before she started talking. "Um is something wrong Sammy? Please tell me I haven't offended yo." She looked as if she was about to cry from thinking she had offended someone. She was quite sad when she found out she had been insulting, and normally she'd cry when she did. "Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry." She repeated over and over again hoping the other would forgive her if she had done something.

She held up a hand. "Please, enough. Aren't we here to enjoy ourselves, after all? Besides, I have enough money that I could buy everything in this restaurant one thousand times over, and my accountants wouldn't even blink." She didn't want to flaunt around exactly how much wealth she had, but at the same time she also wanted to get rid of her date's growing unhappy frown. She extended out her arm and grabbed the girl's hands with her own.

"Hm, so let's turn that frown upside down, n'est pas, ma cherie?"

"I do not know what that means but it sounds romantic." She was smiling and blushing as she said this, she then leaned in on the table which took her to stand for a kiss. She was caught up in the romantic moment that she felt that a kiss had to happen thought she should probably tell the other girl she was not ready for a relationship, but they could still go out on dates. She then just waited there for a kiss to happen.

Something was not right, and Sammy sensed it immediately. Thinking fast for a blatant but skillful escape, she noticed the waiter was now arriving with their food.

"Merci beaucoup, Mon Dieu," she muttered to herself. Reaching over for a napkin, she tucked it into the other girl's shirt and leaned back in her own seat. "Well, it seems as if it is now time to eat." Glancing back at the champagne she had ordered, she didn't feel as up to it anymore. "Je prends une eau minerale, si'l vous plait," she told the waiter, and he sped off again. She took the bottle of champagne and held it.

"Would you like some?" she queried.

Kerin looked disappointed that there was no kiss. That she feel back into her chair letting a single tear fall from her eye. "Um I am a minor i don't think I am allowed to drink." She said awkwardly, not because the other had offered her alcohol. "Is something wrong Sammy? You were being romantic and then I thought we were gonna kis, but we ddin't." She was really wanting the kiss, but maybe the other knew she was not ready for anything serious. Though right now Kerin seemed kind of upset at what the other had done.

Samantha was actually confused for a second. She raised an eyebrow at the girl's sudden moment of boldness. She needed some time to think--to think about a game plan, or maybe how to let her down softly?

"Everything is fine--peachy keen, in fact." She paused for a moment, and picked up her fork and knife, cleanly slicing through her filet mignon. "Well, your food will get cold if you don't eat up, eh?" She said, a slight smile to her face.

"Nice try, but my food is cold already." She giggled knowing something was wrong. "Please tell me Sammy. Let me know what's on your mind. If we are gonna be roomies we have to trust each other, and I know Itrust you I'd tell you anything.' She smiled and blushed. She was really easy when it came to putting her trust in someone she liked. Though that was not the point right now what was was the fact that something was bothering her date and she relly wanted to know what it was.

Samantha almost stopped midway while moving another piece of filet into her mouth, but she continued the fluid motion. "Hmm," she said, chewing thoughtfully. Chewing gave her some time to think. Wasn't it her date that was having the problem, not here?

She swallowed. "I'm doing just fine, actually--there's nothing bothering me. Are you feeling alright, however?" No hurt in not asking, eh?

"Yes I am doing fine thank you for asking.' She started to eat her own food then starred at the bottle of champagne. "Hey mind if I try some now? I just suddenly got into the mood for it." She knew that her small size most likely made her a light weight when it came to alcohol, and she was pretty sure she did not have any magical resistance to toxin like elves did. "It looks like it tastes real good so I thought I might try a glass." She starred at the other smiling for a second hoping she would oblige her her with a glass of the alcoholic liquid.

Samantha set down her fork and knife, and reached over for the bottle. She poured the glass 3/4ths of the way.

"It's always better to enjoy it in small increments--wouldn't want to get too carried away, now." She laughed to herself, remembering some times in past when that happened to her on some outings with friends.
